Choose the right contact
Call 120 for a life-threatening emergency or when pre-hospital emergency care is required. The campus hospital currently lists these contacts:

The hospital contact page lists insurance enquiries at 028-66366439 for Xipu and 028-87601522 for Jiuli. Ask the Eastern (International) Campus service centre about medical services there; call 120 in an emergency.
First visit and referral rules
The campus hospital is the designated first-contact hospital for SWJTU student insurance. Under the student reimbursement instructions:
- For ordinary illness, visit the campus hospital first. A doctor issues a referral certificate when off-campus care is required.
- The certificate is one of the documents required to claim off-campus outpatient costs and cannot be issued retrospectively. Keep it safely.
- Off-campus emergency treatment and inpatient admission do not require a prior campus-hospital referral.
Off-campus and vacation care
The 2026 vacation insurance notice and reimbursement instructions state:
- For off-campus outpatient or emergency costs that require manual reimbursement, pay the full amount in cash. Do not settle with the electronic insurance credential, insurance wallet or a parent’s personal insurance account.
- Submit outpatient invoices for manual reimbursement within three months of issue. An invoice from a given year must normally be submitted by 30 June of the following year and cannot cross insurance periods.
- Ordinary outpatient care outside Chengdu during a vacation is not reimbursed under the notice; eligible emergency care may be claimed.
- Inpatient care within Sichuan can normally be settled directly with the electronic credential or social security card. Before inpatient care outside Sichuan, file an out-of-area record through “四川省医保公共服务平台”.
- Obtain the electronic insurance credential through WeChat, Alipay or the National Healthcare Security Service Platform app, and check that the insured location is Chengdu or Jinniu District.
Manual claims are received at the Jiuli hospital’s third-floor insurance office on Monday and Tuesday, and at the Xipu hospital’s second-floor insurance office on Wednesday and Thursday, 08:30–11:30 and 14:00–17:00. Payments go to the student’s own bank card linked to their student number, so maintain that card on the university finance site. Check the student insurance notices again before applying.
2027 enrolment and payment
The 2027 student insurance notice, published on 8 September 2026, applies to full-time undergraduate and graduate students:

2026 entrants choosing university-arranged enrolment must suspend their previous household-registration or student-location coverage by 2026-09-20, unless they continue to receive government-funded coverage there. Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students should take the identification copies listed in the notice to the campus hospital insurance office. Late or interrupted enrolment may create a waiting period of at least three months; the current policy and university review control.
Insurance premiums are set by year; the 2027 amount applies only to the corresponding insurance year.
